A whisky that carries the memory of its land.
Where the sea glitters, winds sweep through, and rice sways with the seasons
—Harumi, born in Kanagawa, grows in the heart of Shonan.
Its name comes from the clear sunlit ocean that defines this coastal region.
This whisky is not simply
“made from rice.”
It is an expression of Shonan itself
—its time, culture, and atmosphere—
patiently shaped into a single taste.
The pride of Harumi rice.
Refined for the dining table, and now reimagined for the world—
this is the origin of a whisky unlike any other.
A world-first method: saccharification with sprouted brown rice.
Instead of malted barley, we use this method
—a technique unprecedented anywhere in the world.
The process preserves the natural clarity of rice, leaving depth and a soft, lingering finish.
Its quiet strength does not come from rarity, but from necessity —only sprouted rice can shape a whisky where rice is the protagonist with aging that creates a silent depth.
SHONAN HARUMI
Harumi rice was developed over nineteen years.
It is glossy, delicate, and reveals a gentle sweetness as you savor it.
In 2016, it became the first rice from Kanagawa to earn a Special A rating
in Japan’s official rice flavor evaluation.
We mature Harumi whisky in Spanish Oak and Bourbon barrels.
Spanish Oak lends gravitas; Bourbon brings gentle sweetness.
Neither dominates—their role is to frame the character of the rice.
The first sip is remarkably smooth,
followed by calm rising umami,
and a lasting echo.
